Stellar Blade: Blood Rain looks like it’ll feature more fisticuffs than swordplay

The original Stellar Blade surprised audiences with its detailed world and tight gameplay, proving that Shift Up is more than just a studio that puts out gacha titles. At today’s Summer Game Fest, we learned that in addition to Project Spirits, the studio is working on and will self publish a sequel to Stellar Blade dubbed Reveals Stellar Blade: Blood Rain.

The reveal trailer shows that this new protagonist will be completing missions in a sprawling metropolis and she will be fighting what appears to be the Naytiba. “Evie” looks like she’ll differentiate herself from Eve by mostly dealing with foes via hand to hand combat versus swordplay.

Time will tell what awaits in this brand new Stellar Blade adventure, although we do know that Shift Up will be self publishing this title, so chances are the title might have a shot of getting a simultaneous release on PC and console.

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is currently in development and a release window as well as platform details will be forthcoming.
