RedOctane Games got the band back together with the announcement of Stage Tour! While they’re hard at work at reviving the rhythm game genre, they took some time to visit IGN Live 2026 this past weekend to give fans a quick tease of what they can expect when their title comes out this Fall.
Players can pick up a guitar, mic, drums, keyboard and even a standard controller and go on tour with the game’s campaign mode. Choose from a number of campaigns as well as load outs as you go and try to make every city on the tour and rock them all! Each campaign is expected to have unique setlists, challenges, gameplay modifiers as well as branching paths in hopes of keeping you and your potential bandmates on their toes and make the experience something you’ll go back to constantly.
If you’re looking to keep it “local”, other modes such as Quickplay, Judgements Mode, and Practice will ensure your skill levels are kept high and you will certainly need them if you’re looking to tackle Judgement Mode, something that is tuned for high level play.
The developer also elaborated on the tools of rock you will be wielding including a guitar controller built in partnership with Kramer Guitars, a sub-brand of the iconic Gibson Guitar Brand. Drummers will also be able to hit the 1 and 3 on a fully modular drum kit and vocalists will be able to enjoy the freedom of a wireless mic or keep it a bit more traditional with a wired mic.
It wouldn’t be a music game without music and the crew revealed a sampling of what songs they will be playing in both the final release as well as the game’s upcoming closed alpha.
- “RATATATA” by Babymetal & Electric Callboy
- “Get the Funk Out” by Extreme
- “Square Hammer” by Ghost
- “Mimi’s Delivery Service” by Good Kid
- “Dani California” by Red Hot Chili Peppers
- “Terminator Oscillator” by Static-X
- “Island in the Sun” by Weezer
RedOctane certainly has instilled confidence in rhythm gamers not only by building a team of veterans on this project, but also worked with well known members of the rhythm games community in hopes of crafting a best in genre experience. Hopefully we’ll get information as to when this close alpha will take place as well as additional details regarding the game such as setlist features and more importantly a concrete release date.
Stage Tour is set to get back on stage this holiday season when it releases on PC and Consoles.
