Final Fantasy VII Revelations closes out Summer Game Fest, set for simultaneous release in Spring 2027

Gamers around the world have been eagerly awaiting news of the third part of the Final Fantasy Remake Trilogy and today at Summer Game Fest they got what they wanted. Preambled by an announcement that series favorite Tifa Lockhart would be joining Street Fighter 6, Geoff Keighley closed out his summer showcase by revealing the third entry of this beloved iteration of the long running Final Fantasy series (Although I don’t know about you “Get Ready for the Final Battle” is something I tend to associate with Tekken…).

Cloud Strife and his motley crew of allies will finally be joined by Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine as they continue their quest to stop the crazed Sephiroth from summoning Meteor to destroy the planet. All this seriousness aside I can only expect this entry to be packed full of content and characters we’ve grown to know and love (We know Chadley is coming back, but we better get Queen’s Blood…or I’m gonna riot).

This third time around, PlayStation players will not be getting the headstart that they have gotten accustomed to as the game will release simultaneously on PC and consoles. I guess this means the Switch 2 version will not be getting a Magic the Gathering pack in like the previous entries…which is quite the fair trade.

Final Fantasy VII Revelations will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
