Zenless Zone Zero closes out Season 2 when version 2.8 arrives on May 6th

I always feel bad for Zenless Zone Zero’s SR units, simply because of their lower tier status they tend to go unloved and unused. However as the game progressed there was a glimmer of hope for these characters as SSR variants would be made available. The Cunning Hares’ Anby was the first to get this “glow up” treatment when Soldier 0 – Anby as a recruitable agent in ZZZ version 1.6 and with version 2.8, Billy Kid gets the promotion to SSR (Poor Nicole Demara will be the sole Cunning Hares character without a SSR form).

Starlight – Billy is the result of new parts purchased with salary advances, but the cost is worth it as he can now utilize a motorcycle and the Starlight Knight flying kick to deal massive damage to enemies on the field. You’ll want to boost his max HP as it helps increase the amount of Sheer damage he can do.

The other SSR agent who will make their playable debut in version 2.8 is Promeia, a member of the Krampus. She will cross paths with the proxies and friends as they pursue Ramiel. As an Ice Anomaly agent, her EX special attack is ironically the best defense as it will trigger a Perfect Dodge which will enable you to return the favor with a Dodge Counter.

Outside of the hunt for Ramiel, Players can spend some time playing as the proxies’ loveable Bangboo Eous in an event called Marcel Bootopia. Where you can traverse a cordoned off bangboo resort to rescue bangboos and search for treasure. Completing the event will net you the Booltergeist Bangboo which you can take into battle. If you’re looking to earn some polychrome, participate in Ultimate Verdict Trial where you can team up with Promeia in combat challenges. Finally for someone who’s hoping to see Hoshimi Miyabi in an outfit that isn’t the H.A.N.D. (Hollow Affairs & Neutralization Department) uniform, you will have the option to purchase the Hoshimi Miyabi: Dignified Blossom outfit, giving her a look befitting her noble upbringing.

Fans of Zenless Zone Zero’s music will find a new way to enjoy the tracks which color your New Eridu experience as HoYoverse has teamed with Laced Records to offer the game’s soundtrack on vinyl. If you’re looking for something to spin on your record player, head over to the Laced Records website on April 29th to secure your copy.

Finally, Zenless Zone Zero will be available natively on Steam. Historically PC players had to download the standalone launcher or use the Epic Game Store Launcher. Hopefully the Steam launch will mean that the game will be optimized for the company’s Steam Deck hardware, cause lord knows with the balloon game sizes, I can finally install the HoYoverse titles I enjoy on the Steam Deck so my 128gb iPad can be used for what I originally bought it for, p…photos, yeah, photos! The release date of the steam version has not been revealed, but players are urged to wishlist the title in the Steam Client as rewards will be offered based on the number of wishlist entries.

Zenless Zone Zero version 2.8 will launch on May 6th on the following platforms: PC, iOS Android, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
