GUNNAR Optiks announces a pair of glasses inspired by a Cyberpunk 2077 character…but it’s not the one you think!

When GUNNAR Optiks revealed that they would be putting out a new pair of frames based on Cyberpunk 2077, the mental image of replicating the scene from the reveal trailer where Johnny Silverhand wakes up the protagonist who was found in the junkyard.

However much like the twist and turns found in the game, the collaboration pulled quite the swerve on my expectations…as the frames being released by GUNNAR are actually based on eyewear that Dex wears.

Dex? Yes, Dexter DeShawn, the infamous Night City fixer who acts as the catalyst for the game’s plot by hiring V and their compatriots for a heist which went awry. The Dex glasses almost completely replicate the character’s glasses outside of the tint of the lenses (Although Amber Max comes close). Here’s the product description directly from GUNNAR.

“Channel the presence and power of Dexter DeShawn, one of Night City’s most influential fixers, with the bold and futuristic Cyberpunk 2077 x GUNNAR Dex glasses. Designed with Dex’s larger-than-life persona in mind, these frames feature an oversized, angular shield-lens silhouette in a magnesium aluminum alloy nish—perfect for making a statement in the boardroom or on the streets of Watson. Outfitted with GUNNAR’s patented tints with Amber, Sun and Amber Max lens technology. Clinically proven to reduce digital eye strain, enhance visual focus, and sharpen contrast, GUNNAR gives you the endurance you need to survive and thrive in a high-tech world. Every pair ship with exclusive Cyberpunk 2077 packaging, including a collector’s map-print cleaning cloth, and padded puffy sleeve—gear worthy of a true Night City legend”

Each pair of glasses will cost $125, the lens does include GUNNAR’s G-Shield Plus lens coating which makes them anti-reflective and smudge resistant as well as block blue light as well as UV rays ensuring you won’t get eyestrain whether you’re gaming or monitoring the heist you’ve planned.

Pick up a your set on GUNNAR Optiks’ website or Amazon.com.
