Fighting game fans lose their mind as Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection is revealed today

The latest Nintendo Direct was an embarrassment of riches and a little past the halfway point of the 40 minute showcase Fighting Game Fans got their pound of flesh. As the fighting franchises that Capcom is always being hounded about finally gets a wide release once again!

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will collect all the licensed fighting games from the House of Ideas (now owned by Disney) that Capcom developed and released. From the two company’s first collaborative fighting game X-Men: Children of the Atom to the legendary Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Series, the only outliers are titles which were released primarily on home consoles (MvC3 and beyond). As an added bonus, we’re also getting the beat’em up, The Punisher. A title whose only home release came in the form of a SEGA Genesis port.

Since the game’s logo is similar to the Capcom Fighting Collection, this compilation’s special features are on par with its predecessor. This includes practice modes for all the titles, online play with rollback netcode, spectator mode as well trove of music and art.

Take a nostalgic ride with all these fighting classics when Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection comes home on PC, Switch and the PlayStation platform sometime in 2024.
