I kind of dragged my heels when it came to playing Pic-a-Pix Color 2. Even though I was a huge fan of the first one, I?ve played a tonne of other similar puzzle games from the same publisher since then, and as much as I?ve enjoyed many of them, I was feeling a bit of Lightwood puzzle-related fatigue.

Turns out, even if I?m a little sick of playing Block-a-Pix and Fifty Words and however many other puzzle games I?ve played in the past year-plus, I still can?t get enough of Pic-a-Pix Color?s nonograms.

True, Pic-a-Pix Color 2 is literally exactly the same as the first game. It?s still creating pixel art on a grid. The only difference is that the 150 puzzles here are different from the 150 puzzles that made up the first game.

But seeing as I tore through those 150 puzzles pretty quickly back in mid-2018, I was more than ready for another dose of them. And that?s exactly what you get here: more nonograms (or picross puzzles, if you prefer), that start off incredibly simple and end up being impressively complex.

Does it change anything from the first Pic-a-Pix Color? Of course not. But seeing as that first one was one of my favourite games of 2018, I?m very pleased to finish up 2019/kick off 2020 with more of the same in Pic-a-Pix Color 2. It?s basically the gaming equivalent of comfort food, but I?ll take it.

Lightwood Games provided us with a Pic-a-Pix Color 2 PS4/Vita code for review purposes.
