The SEGA Genesis Mini console is still pushing towards a September 19th, 2019 release, and today SEGA revealed that Capcom is contributing a couple of more games to the included classic collection.
We’ll officially be getting Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition, the latter which is kinda useless without a 6-button controller. Thankfully the company has also announced that they are partnering with Retro-Bit to make those available for those who would prefer them. In our opinion and experience, it’ll definitely be worth the upgrade.
Other games announced for the console include Beyond Oasis, Golden Axe, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Phantasy Star IV, Vectorman and more.

Yes, that’s right! Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, is about to bring the hurt with our next set of games coming to the SEGA Genesis Mini. Once exclusive to the SEGA Channel in North America, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, a compilation of the first three Mega Man entries, finds a new home on SEGA Genesis Mini! (We said only 40 games, right? Technically, that’s still true!)
The Blue Bomber will have some competition, though, because here comes a new challenger – Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition – one of the greatest fighting games of all time.
Speaking of which, we’re also happy to announce the Retro-Bit SEGA Genesis and SEGA Mega Drive 6-button controller will be released in late August with a price point of $19.99. This will surely give you the ultimate advantage, especially on games like Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition, Comix Zone, and Beyond Oasis!
Rounding out the list, we have the notoriously challenging Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. In order to save the souls stolen by the evil Lucifer, the brave knight Arthur must fight off hordes of demons, and all that stands between him and certain death is a suit of armor.
