Square Enix reveals gamescom 2017 lineup

With gamescom pretty much kicking off at this point, Square Enix sent over an official announcement detailing what they are planning on showing off to attendees of Europe’s biggest gaming show.

There will be plenty of Final Fantasy, that’s for sure, with the ever growing “Final Fantasy XV Universe” set to include a new mobile Pocket Edition game (see that cute trailer below), the PSVR Monster of the Deep, Windows Edition, the multiplayer expansion, etc.

There will also be some Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Tokyo Sphear, the Xbox One X-enhanced Rise of the Tomb Raider and more.

FINAL FANTASY XV POCKET EDITION Announcement Trailer:

Square Enix Ltd., today revealed its full line-up for Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany, featuring an impressive roster of its latest and upcoming gaming highlights across two locations in Hall 9.

To mark the opening of the show SQUARE ENIX revealed new information for a variety of titles in the portfolio. Updates include expansions to the FINAL FANTASY XV universe with the newly announced Windows Edition, the announcement of the technically enhanced Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One X,  and also a release date for the upcoming team-based brawler DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT which will be available for the PlayStation 4 on 30th January 2018.

Playable titles at the SQUARE ENIX booth include, the exhilarating team-based brawler DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT, the next game in the award-winning episodic LIFE IS STRANGE franchise,LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM, the HD remaster of a series classic FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE, and the latest title from Tokyo RPG Factory LOST SPHEAR.

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online fans are called to arms at both the SQUARE ENIX booth and the FINAL FANTASY XIV: BATTLE ARENA (Hall 9, C50 ? ESL Area) to take part in daily battle challenges, which include enemies from its second critically-acclaimed expansion, Stormblood. Anyone unable to make it to Germany can watch the whole show, including interviews with Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida and a cosplay contest, at twitch.tv/finalfantasyxiv.

In a huge area dedicated to the latest updates in the FINAL FANTASY XV Universe, visitors can experience the first public hands-on demo for FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION, try their hand at the brand-new PlayStation VR fishing adventure, MONSTER OF THE DEEP: FINAL FANTASY XV and play the upcoming multiplayer expansion FINAL FANTASY XV -MULTIPLAYER EXPANSION: COMRADES.

In addition, fans are also invited to experience classic titles in the FINAL FANTASY series in a very special retro trip to celebrate the series? 30th anniversary. Fans of the critically acclaimed mobile-RPG,FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS, can also look forward to special activities at the SQUARE ENIX booth with photo opportunities with beloved character Fina throughout the show and a signing session with Producer, Hiroki Fujimoto, from 14:00?15:00 PM (CEST) on Thursday 24th August.

Finally, Square Enix Collective is proud to present five titles from its current portfolio of forthcoming indie releases, in the form of BATTALION 1944, DEADBEAT HEROES, FORGOTTON ANNE, OH MY GODHEADS, and TOKYO DARK.
