Spotify finally comes to Xbox One

As rumored (and then sorta leaked) over the past couple of weeks, Spotify is finally coming to the Xbox One.  It’s pretty much the best music streaming service out there, so it’s great to see the once PS4 exclusive music app show up on other console platforms.

See the official announcement below and at the Xbox Wire site, here.

Whether you?re battling hordes of enemies, scoring the winning goal or just enjoying the scenic routes of your favorite open world game, the greatest gaming experiences all have one thing in common ? a majestic soundtrack. The perfect soundtrack can take you back to reminisce about moments of gaming triumph, or get you fired up for the next big challenge ahead.

At Spotify, we believe that the right music can make every moment special, wherever and whenever you are. For some time now, Xbox gamers have been telling us that they?d like to be able to soundtrack their own gaming sessions using Spotify, to make every single session feel new and unique.

Well, we have been listening?

Starting today, Spotify is available on Xbox One in 34 markets* around the world. The new integration means that millions of Xbox One gamers can now choose the perfect music from Spotify to provide a fresh gaming soundtrack every time.

Just download the Spotify app from the Xbox Store to choose your personalized gaming experience. You can choose from your saved music, search the full Spotify catalogue of 30 million tracks, or browse the pre-curated gaming playlists in the ?Gaming? hub.

And, to celebrate the launch of Spotify on Xbox One we even have a playlist curated by Major Nelson himself.

Simply play your music on demand with your Xbox One controller, whether you are a free or a Premium Spotify user. Worried about interrupting your game? Don?t be! You can also control playback on your Xbox wirelessly from the Spotify app on your phone, tablet or desktop using Spotify Connect.
