Nintendo Switch to launch on March 3rd, 2017 for $299.99

After quite a lot of anticipation building up to tonight’s Nintendo Switch Presentation, Nintendo finally revealed launch dates and pricing details for their console/portable hybrid platform.

Were all the rumors swirling around correct? Kinda! Nintendo Switch will officially launch on March 3rd, 2017 for $299 in North America. The system will launch simultaneously, in most regions worldwide. Nintendo will be rolling out a new online network for the Switch, which will be free for a limited time at launch, but will then become a pay service by May 2017.

The Joy-Con controllers will come in various colors, will feature detailed rumble feedback, motion controls, and one of the pair includes a camera to detect shapes and movement. The Joy-Cons will also be available in Neon Red and Blue colors, and will also come with a wrist strap.

As for games, Nintendo showed off Switch 1 2, Arms, Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Xenogears Chronicles 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Dragon Quest X and XI, Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2, a new Shin Megami Tensei game, Project Octopath Traveler, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, FIFA and more. A good number of the bigger titles, Super Mario Odyssey will not be ready until later in the year, Holiday 2017 specifically.
