With pixelated retro graphics and intense 2 player fencing action, the original Nidhogg certainly stood out from the pack when it was first announced. Now that we have the sequel headed to the PS4 (titled Nidhogg 2 natch), things just got a whole lot weirder.
The super simple monochromatic figures have been upgraded with a totally new art style and some crazy animation, there are new moves, multiple weapons to dangerously swing around, and apparently bursting out of a nidhogg’s butt is a normal thing. There will be local and online play, and single player support that allows players to duke it out against the A.I., and more.
We’re definitely excited to check it out… and if you happen to be in in the San Francisco, CA area on Saturday, November 5th, the game will be available for some hands-on at the Day of the Devs event in booth #30 and on the main stage at one point.
