Seagate reveals a new external Solid State Game Drive for Xbox One

Seagate has been the go to company for external storage for the Xbox One. First, they released the 4TB model with a vivid green color. Then, we were treated with a Gears of War themed HDD which includes exclusive GOW4 content inside the packaging. (Note: Hardware impressions coming soon.) Now, to complete the trifecta, Seagate introduces a new sleek, Solid State Game Drive exclusive for the Xbox One. This one is the slimmest of the three and has a nice Xbox One theme going for it.

Check out the Press Release and images below.

Key features include:

  • 512GB SSD ($199.00)
  • Faster game load time
  • Store 15+ games and more downloadable content
  • Plug-and-play setup gets you up and playing in seconds
  • Compact size and no power cable makes it perfect for your living room or bringing to a friend?s house

Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD product shots:

The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD uses flash storage to improve the gaming experience. Helping gamers get into the action quicker, the Seagate Game Drive reduces waiting at welcome screens and enables quicker transitions between levels in top titles like Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4.

With limited console internal drive capacity and game install sizes continuing to increase, users are looking for ways to expand storage. With 512GB of capacity, the Seagate Game Drive lets gamers store approximately 15 of their favorite titles1 and downloadable content. Users can archive less frequently played games on their console and keep a huge library of games at their fingertips on the Seagate Game Drive.

Seagate Game Drive features easy setup and install in seconds. The sleek and stylish aluminum enclosure also complements the Xbox ecosystem. Its compact size and no power cable make it perfect for bringing to a friend?s house2.

Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD joins the company?s highly successful HDD version debuted at Gamescom 2015. That model is available in 2TB and 4TB capacities and can store approximately 50 or 100 games respectively.

Pricing and Availability:

The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD will retail for an MSRP of $199.99 USD and will be available in November at Amazon, GameStop and other consumer electronics retailers.
