PS Now requires Windows 7, 8 or 10 and nothing all that crazy in terms of hardware. As for controllers, a DualShock 3 or 4 is required. Apparently PS Now will hit the Mac at some point in the future also, but there has been no announcement as of yet.
Read on for the details and system requirements, and how to pre-order the DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adapter (available on Amazon right here).
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s streaming game service, PlayStation Now (PS Now), is making the jump to Windows PC across North America. Starting today, gamers can download an application to access a wide selection of PlayStation titles on Windows PC. That includes console exclusive games from the Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank franchises. The app is available at www.PSNow.com.
A single monthly subscription provides unlimited access to over 400 games from the PlayStation 3 library, including hits like The Last Of Us, Journey, and more. New games are added every month, expanding the library even further. The full list of games available on the subscription service can be viewed at https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/psnow/games/.
To celebrate today’s launch, a one-year pass to PS Now’s subscription service is being offered for a limited time. The 12 month plan is available for $99.99, representing savings of over 55% off the regular monthly price. Gamers can also choose from the standard plans: one month for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99 (about $15 per month). A free seven-day trial is available for gamers who have not yet tried out the service.
Recommended specs for a smooth experience with PS Now’s Windows PC app:
- Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
- 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
- 300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
- Sound card; USB port
A minimum 5Mbps connection is required to use PS Now on any device. A wired Internet connection is recommended for the optimal experience.
Additionally, gamers can begin pre-ordering the recently revealed DUALSHOCK 4 USB Wireless Adaptor. This adaptor is a great match for playing PS Now on PC, as it enables wireless communication with DUALSHOCK 4 to PC and Mac. The device enables every feature of the controller: buttons, analog sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack ? as long as the gaming application supports these features. The device launches in early September for a suggested retail price of $24.99 ($29.99 CAD). Owning the USB Wireless Adaptor isn’t required to play PS Now on Windows PC, as gamers can connect a DUALSHOCK 4 using a USB cable.
