Bandai Namco reveals new Tekken 7 characters, story mode details

Bandai Namco is known for some pretty out-there stories and character bios for the Tekken series, so we’re definitely glad that Tekken 7 will not be an exception.

As for new characters joining the Tekken 7 cast, Bandai Namco today confirmed that Lee Chaolan and his alter ego Violet will return to the series whenever the game finally hits the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The company also provided a little insight on the story mode that they are busily putting together for the game.

Tekken 7 screens:

TEKKEN 7 is well known for having a huge diverse roster of characters featuring fighters from all over the globe and sometimes from the animal kingdom. Today, we?re excited to announce that Lee Chaolan and his alter ego Violet will be making their return to the King of Iron First Tournament.

Lee Chaolan has a long suffering history with the Mishima clan. Heihachi Mishima in his treacherous wisdom adopted Lee when he was a boy to create a rival for his son Kazuya. As Kazuya?s adopted brother, Lee was given the same education and upbringing befitting a son of the Mishima clan. After being expelled from the Mishima Zaibatsu for unknown reasons, Lee founded Violet Systems, a successful tech company specializing in the development of humanoid robotics. Shortly after, the world became embroiled in a conflict between the Mishima Zaibatsu lead by Heihachi and the G Corporation, secretly controlled by Kazuya. As the world cautiously watched the conflict, trying to decide which side would be most beneficial to support, Lee had his own plans as he had nothing but extreme hatred for both Heihachi and Kazuya. Lee chose to exact his revenge on the father and son by covertly supporting Lars Alexandersson, who had turned on the Mishima Zaibatsu, but this was only the beginning of what he had in store for the Mishimas.

TEKKEN 7?s engaging Story Mode presents numerous hours of gameplay. Not only can players experience the storyline from the Mishima clan point-of-view, there are other story arcs that involve fighters outside of the Mishima saga. One such example is the story arc featuring Claudio Serafino and his group of exorcists.

The Archers of Sirius are a group of exorcists who have been banishing supernatural entities from the world since ancient times. A highly secretive organization, its existence is unknown to the general public. Although it is unknown how their existence was subsequently revealed, the Archers of Sirius were suddenly approached by the Mishima Zaibatsu to join their conglomerate. The Archers of Sirius naturally refused but this did not stop the persistent pressure from the Mishima Zaibatsu and eventually the news of their unrelenting harassment reached the de facto leader of the Archers of Sirius, Claudio Serafino. Determined to uncover the motives behind the Mishima Zaibatsu?s aggressive recruitment tactics, Claudio begins to investigate the powerful conglomerate.
