The Force is Strong with EA and Respawn’s new Star Wars game

Since it’s Star Wars Day and all (May the 4th, duh), we figured there would be a big Star Wars-themed videogame announcement of some sort… and we’re certainly not disappointed with what we go.

EA and Respawn Entertainment are hard at work on a brand new 3rd person action adventure title set in the Star Wars universe, with Stig Asmussen (best known for a few God of War releases at Sony Santa Monica) heading up the project. If that doesn’t sound like a great combination for a kick-ass new Star Wars game, than we don’t now what would.

Definitely head over to the Respawn blog to hear with Stig has to say about it.

EA also confirmed that they have a few Star Wars projects in the works across multiple studios, so we’re sure to hear a little more from them soon.

At EA right now, we have multiple studios building a variety of great Star Wars games spanning different genres, all united by our team?s passion for Star Wars stories, characters, and adventures. Today, EA and Respawn Entertainment have expanded their relationship to include the development of an all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. They join our other great studios ? Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more ? who are currently working on Star Wars projects.
