EA maps out Star Wars Battlefront spring updates, summer expansion

star wars battlefront bespinstar wars battlefront bespinEA and DICE have a lot of content and updates (both free and paid) planned out for Star Wars Battlefront throughout the year.  WIth the Outer Rim expansion in rotation currently, the studio figured it was time to reveal more about the next game update and content drops.

As for the “free” updates, which are scheduled to go live in the somewhat near future, the studio revealed some details as highlighted below (via the Star Wars Battlefront blog).

  • New In-Game Events – more double score weekends, community missions and Special Login Events are coming for players to earn more experience, credits and items.
  • New Hutt Contracts – Unlock powerful Star Cards like the Berserker Trait, Bacta Bomb and Ion Neutralizer.
  • More New Content – We also have a couple of surprises in store that we know our fans have been looking for, especially those who have been clamoring for ways to have more options to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront offline. More to come soon.
  • Specific for May the 4th – In celebration of Star Wars Day we have cool activities planned that we?ll announce soon.

The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront – Bespin expansion (for season pass owners) will offer 4 new maps which take place across familiar Bespin locations such as Cloud City and the carbonite chamber.  Lando Calrissian and the bounty hunter Dengar join the hero/villains roster, and there will be more Star Cards and blasters, and a new game mode too.
