The Final Fantasy Portal App is coming to North America

final fantasy app logofinal fantasy app logoNow you might question why this is news, since the Final Fantasy Portal App is more a fan-related kind of thing that delivers Final Fantasy info and trailers and what not. But, BUT, as fans outside of North America are already aware, it also comes packed with a playable version of Triple Triad, the incredibly fun card game from Final Fantasy VIII. That alone, at least for me, makes this download worth it.

No word on when it’ll hit NA outside of Summer, but hopefully it’ll be soon. Check out the full press release below.

At the SQUARE ENIX? press conference today, the company announced the English version of the FINAL FANTASY? PORTAL APP, a fun way to get the latest FINAL FANTASY news. The mobile app features FINAL FANTASY games and a point system, keeping players both informed and entertained. The application will be available for free this summer (with in-app purchases) on the iTunes Store? and Google Play? store.  Additionally, Triple Triad, the popular card game from FINAL FANTASY VIII, will be making its mobile debut through this portal app. Players can also get access to exclusive videos and information through this app.

The new app is a comprehensive source for latest information related to the FINAL FANTASY series, including games, music, merchandise, and events. After logging in with the SQUARE ENIX ID, players can accumulate points through logging in daily and viewing news and videos. These points can be exchanged with in-game items and digital content like wallpapers.
