NieR follow-up in development by Platinum Games and Square Enix

Remember NieR? You should, if for no other reason than it had one of the best soundtracks of last-gen. But if not, maybe learning that Platinum Games is collaborating with Square Enix on a new NieR title will be enough to get you interested.

This little nugget of news was unveiled during the Square Enix conference today, along with a video showcasing the current visual direction for the game. It sounds like this one is still a ways off, but if you had told me yesterday that a new NieR game would be announced today, I wouldn’t have believed you. So at least we know it’s coming!

Check out that video below, along with the official press release and a few screens.
