Samurai Warriors 4-II slashes onto PlayStation platforms, PC in September

Get ready for some more button mashing samurai action — Koei Tecmo has revealed yet another new Samurai Warriors title: Samurai Warriors 4-II.

We’re guessing that Koei Tecmo isn’t quite ready to release a 5th numbered Samurai Warriors installment yet, so instead we get a new take on the Samurai Warriors 4 formula.  SW 4-II is set for a PS4, PS3, PS Vita and PC release on September 29th at this point.

What’s different this time around? Samurai Warriors 4-II is apparently a “a hero-focused saga” which follows a certain cast of characters from previous titles as well as new heroes, through more than a dozen new chapters.  There will also be new modes, such as the Endless Castle, along with additional features, updated gameplay systems and more.

Take a look at the first selection of screens along with the announcement trailer, below.

Samurai Warriors 4-II screens:

KOEI TECMO America today announced the upcoming release of Samurai Warriors 4-II, a brand new installment in the Samurai Warriors saga. The title is currently being developed for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and will be released through North American retailers on September 29, 2015. The title will also be simultaneously available digitally on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PlayStation VITA handheld entertainment system, as well as on PC via Steam.

Samurai Warriors 4-II is a hero-focused saga. Unlike the previous Samurai Warriors games that focused on delivering their narrative by exploring the various regions of feudal Japan, this title casts a spotlight on the characters themselves, and tells their stories through thirteen exciting new chapters. These chapters revolve around nine characters introduced in Samurai Warriors 4, three fan-favorites from previous titles, and a brand new addition to the samurai roster.

Samurai Warriors 4-II will include many new and improved features as the battle, action, and character development systems have been revamped. The game also introduces a highly challenging and richly rewarding mode called: the Endless Castle. Players can choose to enter and struggle to survive for as long as possible, or play against the clock and see how far they can get up the castle?s increasingly difficult levels!
