Pixels official movie trailer

Okay Sony Pictures, now you have our attention.  After writing off Adam Sandler’s upcoming Pixels motion picture as a probably terrible, classic videogame-themed movie cash-in, we’ve changed our mind.  With a ridiculous plot, some really cool looking effects, a slew of popular classic 8-bit characters and a fun cast, we’re definitely interested now.

Basically, Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Kevin James, Josh Gad and friends team up to save the world from classic 8-bit videogame characters come-to-life. ID4 meets Ghostbusters meets Wreck-It Ralph, sorta.

Pixels is scheduled for a Summer 2015 release in theaters. Check out the official trailer below.

This summer, it’s game on or game over! When aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth in the form of the video games.

Cast: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, and Brian Cox
Directed by: Chris Columbus
