Resogun Challengers update now live, Defenders expansion launching next week

Sony’s XDev Studio Europe and Housemarque ain’t done with Resogun… not by long shot. Today they officially confirmed the release date and details for the Resogun Defenders expansion, along with information for the full-featured, free Resogun Challengers PS4 game update.

Resogun Defenders, which will cost $4.99 (and is free of charge for season pass holders obviously) brings about some unique new modes including Protector, which has players building cities and defending them, and Commando, which introduces kind of a Space Invaders gameplay concept giving players control of one of the last humans in an effort to shoot down the bad guys.

The free Challengers update, which is rolling out today, includes a photo mode (finally!), a “human gallery”, and some neat game-wide challenges and a new rankings system.

Check out the details below and at the PS Blog, along with the Defenders trailer.

Check out some details for the pair of new Resogun Defenders modes.

Resogun Defenders modes:

Protector Mode:
Use new power-ups like Super Overdrive, Super Boost and Human Teleporter to save humans and build up cities. Once a city is completed, it?ll give you power-ups, deploy turret defences and flip the level. Make sure to defend the newly built strongholds from the city destroyer mini-boss and last as long as you can.

Commando Mode:
Play as one of the last humans and shoot down incoming aerial threats while doing your best to avoid the falling debris. See if you can survive 20 waves in this easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master arcade mode. Also playable in co-op and an all new competitive ?Battle Mode? multiplayer mode!
