Crystal Red and Crystal Blue Nintendo 2DS launching soon for $99

Nintendo’s 3DS family (which includes the 2DS) apparently has a lot more life in it, so it’s not unexpected that they are still tossing out new SKUs such as these Crystal Red and Crystal Blue colored Nintendo 2DS systems.

Due to hit retail on November 21st (the same day as Pok?mon Omega Ruby and Pok?mon Alpha Sapphire), the translucent Crystal Red and Crystal Blue Nintendo DS units will set gamers back $99.99.

Check out some product and box shot of the new 2DSs below.

Read on for the announcement.

With a durable design and lower price point, Nintendo 2DS is a great first-time system for kids or anyone new to portable gaming. Its unique combination of video game fun and value will become even clearer on Nov. 21 when Nintendo launches new Crystal Red and Crystal Blue Nintendo 2DS systems at a suggested retail price of $99.99 each. Kids will love the slick semi-transparent design, and gamers of all ages will enjoy having access to a library of more than 3,000 games, including the recently launched Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and other great games like Mario Kart 7 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

The Crystal Red and Crystal Blue systems are launching alongside Pok?mon Omega Ruby and Pok?mon Alpha Sapphire, the next great Pok?mon adventures coming to retail stores,Nintendo.com and the Nintendo eShop at a suggested retail price of $39.99 each.
The Nintendo 2DS system plays all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D, is backward compatible with a huge library of Nintendo DS games and also offers the ability to download games from the Nintendo eShop. The system maintains many of the same hardware and connected features as Nintendo 3DS such as touch-screen controls, StreetPass, Miiverse and online multiplayer functionality. Without any hinges, Nintendo 2DS is an affordable, durable gaming system and offers a great entry point into the Nintendo hand-held experience.
