Senran Kagura: Bon App?tit! hits the kitchen next month

Senran-Kagura-Bon-Appetit-logoSenran-Kagura-Bon-Appetit-logoIf you haven’t read our review of the previous Senran Kagura release. — definitely go do that right away.

Anyway… with the announcement of Senran Kagura: Bon App?tit!, it’s nice to see XSEED Games and developer Marvelous ACQ take their suggestive, offbeat PS Vita series in a slightly different direction — from action beat-em-up to rhythm-based cooking. Of course, the game is probably more focused on the shinobi girls than their culinary skills, but it still certainly looks like a potential recipe for success.

Check out a handful of screens and a trailer below.

Senran Kagura: Bon App?tit! will be available on November 11th via the PlayStation Store.

XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the rhythm game SENRAN KAGURA Bon App?tit! will be available for digital download on November 11, 2014 in North America. Additionally, the company disclosed that the Gessen x Hebijo expansion pack will follow on November 25, adding the Gessen Girls’ Academy and the Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy, for a total of 20 shinobi. The expansion also comes with a bonus soundtrack app, which includes each character?s song. SENRAN KAGURA Bon App?tit! combines the series? trademark outrageous combos, tempting specials and offbeat humor with fast-paced rhythm gameplay set to a soundtrack of infectious Japanese music.

In this spinoff of the SENRAN KAGURA series, the grand rivalry continues as the ever-competitive shinobi take a break from hand-to-hand combat and face one another in an entirely different kind of battle, with delicious results. The shinobi master Hanz? has promised a magical scroll, with the power to grant any one wish, to the winner of his first annual ?Super Dish Gourmet Cook-Off.? Driven by their own desires, or just bored curiosity, the girls of Japan?s secret ninja schools have each signed up for the tournament, ready to put their reflexes, memory and speed to the test in a cooking competition unlike any other.

Players can further expand SENRAN KAGURA Bon App?tit! by importing their costume and character DLC from the recently released brawler SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS. They can even import the two playable bonus characters, the fearsome Daid?ji and the masterful Rin. Both characters bring their own new stories into Bon App?tit!, complete with new visual novel sequences, battles and music (Gessen x Hebijo expansion must be purchased to access Rin?s content).

SENRAN KAGURA Bon App?tit! is developed by Meteorise, together with Marvelous Inc. of Japan for the PS Vita. Published by XSEED Games in North America, the game will be available for digital download via PlayStation Store on November 11, 2014 for 14.99, and the Gessen x Hebijo expansion pack will be available on November 25, 2014 for $14.99. Marvelous Europe will launch the title in Europe digitally on November 12, 2014. This title has been rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB in North America, 16+ by PEGI in Europe, and MA 15+ in Australia.
