Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare gets PS3 – PS4 Cross-Buy [Update: Xbox 360 – XB1 too]

[Update: Xbox 360 to Xbox One upgrade confirmed too]

Activision this evening announced a rather attractive promotion for PlayStation owners and Call of Duty fans.

Gamers who pick up or pre-order the digital PS3 version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will get the PS4 version as a free Cross-Buy title through March 2015. Surprisingly, this promotion also works the other way around, though we’re not sure why you’d want to play the PS3 version if you already own the game for the PS4.

This incentive will also function with the game’s season pass and DLC, which will have no expiration.

Hop on over to the PS Blog for more info and a FAQ.  There’s no word on if Microsoft and Activision will announce a similar promotion for Xbox 360/Xbox One owners.
