PopCap and EA have been super fair in releasing new free content for the game, especially since the price point is less than $40… even on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Anyway, the next free update: Legends of the Lawn is scheduled to go live on September 30th for all versions of the game and will include a new Taco Bandits game mode, new class variants and customizable items and more. PlayStation version players will receive all the updates from the Suburbination update also, so you’ll finally get caught up.
Check out the Legends of the Lawn trailer below and read on for more details.

Players grow their legend in the outlandish new Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare update, Legends of the Lawn. Complete with a slew of new Character Variants, the tasty new Taco Bandits game mode, and a bountiful offering of more than 200 customization items and five new spawnable characters, the Legends of the Lawn update will be available free for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC on Origin, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 starting September 30.
Players can choose from one of the seven new Character Variants ? Golf Star, Centurion, Paleontologist, Chomp Thing, Alien Flower, Jade Cactus or Sanitation Expert ? to take into the Legends of the Lawn battle grounds. In addition, the new Taco Bandits game mode recruits the Plants to defend Crazy Dave?s deliciously grilled tacos from the Zombies. Capture all three tacos and return them to the UFO as the Zombies, or protect all three tacos as the Plants to win.
PlayStation players will also get all of the content from Suburbination ? the update released in August before the game was available on PlayStation ? including the Crash Course map, Suburbination game mode, and Plasma Pea character variant.
