It?s time for  Mutant Blob fans to exact revenge upon the human race as DrinkBox Studios releases its critically acclaimed action-platformer,  Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Mutant Blobs Attack comes to North American PS3s today (June 17th) and European ones tomorrow (June 18th). The game also launches on Xbox 360 in both regions tomorrow (June 18th), published by indie game publisher Midnight City. The game has an ESRB rating of E10+ and PEGI rating 7.

Mutant Blobs Attack will have a MSRP of $7.99/?6.99/?5.49 for new purchasers, but for those who already own the game on the PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system, an upgrade bundle can be purchased on PS3 with a MSRP of $3.99/?2.99/?2.39, which also includes a selection of Avatars, Themes and the Original Soundtrack.

Incidentally, DrinkBox Studios considers Mutant Blobs Attack to be its favorite gelatinous-oriented game, giving players the joyous experience of eating their fill of boots, humans, cows and space cows.

In Mutant Blobs Attack the player controls a tiny Blob who has the ability to grow in size by eating everything in its path. Using this ability, as well as a bevy of additional powers gained throughout the game, players will platform and puzzle their way through the world from a range of sizes, starting on the bedroom floor all the way to conquering city skyscrapers.

Features for Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack Include:

  • 24 full game levels, PLUS top-down bonus stages.
  • Insane Growth: Start the size of a tennis ball and grow to massive proportions.
  • Mutant Powers: Fly like a bottle rocket, stick to things like a fridge magnet, or use the powers of telekinesis to move platforms.
  • Network Features: Be No. 1 in the world on the Leaderboards and earn custom Trophies/Achievements.
  • Retro Style: 1950?s-inspired art and music paired with B-movie inspired humor.

“We?ve often been asked when we would bring Mutant Blobs Attack to new platforms and why we gave such a long and difficult title to what is otherwise an amazing game,? said Ryan MacLean, Co-Founder of DrinkBox Studios. ?We?re excited to now offer the game to a whole new group of gamers and we?re confident Mutant Blobs Attack will become their favorite gelatinous game as well. As for the title, we feel a short name would have been too easy.?
