Minecraft approaching 54 million copies, console editions top PC/Mac

The Minecraft trai..err.. redstone-powered minecart just keeps on chugging along.

Today, Mojang’s Patrick Geuder confirmed that their shockingly popular and addictive sandbox adventure title is now approaching 54 million copies sold across all platforms (PC/Mac, mobile, consoles). That’s not all though… the console versions (Xbox 360/PS3 at this point) combined have officially topped the combined total for the PC/Mac versions, so congrats to them!

Check out the tweet below confirming the milestone.
