The Swapper cloning to PS4, PS Vita, PS3 this summer

Curve Digital has announced that Facepalm Games’ award-winning PC sci-fi adventure/puzzler will be heading to all PlayStation platforms this May.

The unique, stylish and claustrophobic side-scrolling brainteaser is being ported by Curve Studios and will be a Cross-Buy and Cross-Save enabled release for the PS4, PS Vita and PS3.

Check out a selection of creepy screens below and read on for the details from Curve.

The Swapper screens:

Curve Digital, a Central London publisher of fine independent video games is proud to announce The Swapper?s PlayStation debut as the final part of their month of announcements. The game will be developed by sister company and development house Curve Studios and will be a fully cross-compatible title on Sony formats, including Cross-Buy and Cross-Save features.

The Swapper began life as project developed by two university students, Olli Harjola and Otto Hantula, and met with critical acclaim for its story, level design and visual style when it was launch on PC in 2013.

The game is set on Theseus, a damaged space station and research facility. As players explore the station, they are able to create up to four clones of yourself and can switch between them at will in order to solve a huge variety of clever puzzles.

It?s a claustrophobic, dark and atmospheric environment, but it?s also one that looks like no other game. The artwork of the Swapper was made using hand-crafted materials and clay, and creates a world quiet unlike anything ever seen before on a PlayStation platform.

Jason Perkins, Managing Director at Curve Digital said: ?The Swapper highlights everything great about modern indie games – It?s polished, its mechanics seem simple but provide a great deal of depth, and it touches on themes and narratives that triple-A games rarely explore.?

Olli Harjola, designer and developer of The Swapper commented: ?The reception of the Swapper blew me away when we launched on PC last year, and it?s really exciting to be able to launch the game to a brand new group of gamers on PlayStation.?

The Swapper will be available to buy as a digital-only title on the PSN store in Mid-May 2014.
