R.B.I. Baseball 14 steps up to the plate this spring

Completely out of left field (see what we did there) comes the announcement of a brand new baseball game in the once dormant R.B.I. Baseball franchise.

MLBAM (MLB Advanced Media) is hard at work on a new baseball game for current, next generation platforms, as well as mobile devices, and it will — somehow — be launching this spring.  There’s even an official website, right here: rbigame.mlb.com.

With MLB 2K taking a break, now is the time for another franchise to take on Sony’s big MLB The Show series.  Hopefully we’ll actually get a look at the game soon since spring is seemingly around the corner.

Below is the brief announcement from MLB.

MLBAM today announces that R.B.I. Baseball 14, a video game brand not seen in nearly two decades, will return this spring. R.B.I. Baseball 14 is being developed by MLBAM for multi-platform distribution across current and next generation consoles and smartphones and tablets.
