Namco Bandai’s trend of releasing new free-to-play versions of their popular franchises on the PS3 continues. This morning Namco Bandai of Europe revealed that Soulcalibur Lost Swords, which is the 4th or 5th free-to-play game the company has announced recently, is in development exclusively for the PS3.

Soulcalibur Lost Swords will be a free download and so far includes a single player experience of some type. We’re not sure what else to expect at the moment, but we assume a few fighters and a good chunk of the game will be included and everything else will require a transaction of some sort.

Read on for the announcement, and we’ll update with assets when they are released. More info will be released at the upcoming TGS.

NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S. today confirms that SOULCALIBUR Lost Swords will be coming to Europe exclusively on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

The next exciting chapter in the hit SOULCALIBUR franchise will be a Free to Play single player experience and will feature numerous famous fighters including Siegfried and Mitsurugi.

More information on this brand new title will be revealed during the Tokyo Game Show.
