Twitch integration confirmed for PlayStation 4

Update: Ustream details added.

Sony and Twitch today confirmed that the Twitch streaming service will be integrated into the PS4.

Twitch, which will also be available for the Xbox One, allows players to broadcast and commentate live gameplay video direct from their console. Sony originally partnered with Ustream, so we’re not quite sure if Twitch replaces the or will be made available in addition to it. Either way, it’s great news.

Update: According to a Ustream rep, Ustream is “locked in” and will coexist with Twitch on the PS4. More details should be released in the near future.

August 20, 2013 – Twitch, the world?s leading video platform and community for gamers, today announced it will be coming to the PlayStation 4 (PS4) system, Sony Computer Entertainment?s (SCE) next generation computer entertainment system.
