Housemarque’s RES0GUN set to explode onto PS4 this year

Housemarque’s insane looking, voxel-driven spiritual successor to the Super Stardust series for the PS4 was revealed during Sony’s Gamescom conference, and boy does it look like a blast.

RES0GUN is a twist on the shmup genre, and is not a twin-stick overhead shooter as we may have expected from the studio. Instead, within a side-scrolling playfield, the entire game world is created using millions of cubes (voxels), which can seemingly be blown to smithereens. It looks absolutely nuts as you can see in the eye candy screens and trailer below.

RES0GUN screens:

The game will be available to download via the PSN sometime in 2013, but apparently not for launch. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get the game for free.

Read on for the facts.

From Housemarque OY, the creators of Super Stardust HD and Dead Nation and XDEV Studio Europe comes RESOGUN, the next generation of shoot ?em up, developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

RESOGUN will be available as a digital download from the PlayStation Network.

KEY FEATURES:
Unleash a diverse array of devastating weapons including lasers, missiles, overdrive and nova-bombs, to blast hordes of enemies and rescue the last survivors from distant galactic colonies that are under ruthless attack from an evil alien invasion force.

Experience the most intense destruction ever, as the power of PlayStation 4 renders the entire world and every enemy, using millions of individual building blocks (voxels) that break up in real time as you battle to survive and the world is destroyed around you.

Push yourself to the limits in Arcade and Endless play modes and prove your skills in global leaderboards for each game mode and difficulty setting.

Join forces with your friends online and show off your skills in action packed co-op multiplayer.

Welcome to RES0GUN. . . the most insanely intensive, ultra-responsive , fully HD, 60FPS shoot em, only on PlayStation 4!
