Telltale’s The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC available now

Just a friendly reminder from the fine folks over at Telltale Games that The Walking Dead’s DLC, 400 Days, is available today via PSN. It will also release tomorrow, July 3rd for PC/Steam, July 5th for Xbox Live, and July 10th for iOS platforms.

Featuring five short stories expanding The Walking Dead universe even further for the award winning video game, 400 Days does carry over some decisions made in five chapters that made up Season One of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, and decisions made in 400 Days will likewise carry over to Season 2.

We hope to have our hands on the DLC at some point this week, and will certainly have more information about it on Gaming-Age soon. In the meantime, check out the full press release from Telltale contained below.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Leading publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman, the Eisner Award-winning creator and writer of The Walking Dead for his Skybound imprint at Image Comics, announced today that The Walking Dead: 400 Days, DLC for The Walking Dead: Season One, is now available for purchase on PlayStation?Network in North America for PlayStation?3 computer entertainment system.

Release follows on PC/Mac via Steam and other digital outlets on July 3rd, Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox?360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on July 5th and will be available as an in-app purchase for compatible iOS devices on July 10th forThe Walking Dead: The Game, which is available in the App Store. 400 Days is also targeted for release on PlayStation?Network in European territories on July 10th.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days tells new stories of survival through the eyes of five new characters. It is linked to Season One and the forthcoming Season Two by player choice; decisions made in Season One will affect 400 Days and choices made in 400 Days will resonate into Season Two. Playable in any order, the five connected stories are centered in and around a truck stop on a Georgia highway, where players will be thrust into horrifying situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions.

400 Days was previewed at the 2013 E3 Expo in Los Angeles, earning awards and nominations from top critics and media outlets, including ‘Most Valuable Game’ honors from Official Xbox Magazine and PC Gamer, as well as ‘Best Adventure Game’ awards fromNerdist and Game Informer, who said, “…everything you know and love from about Telltale’s The Walking Dead is right here again.”

The Walking Dead: Season One is also coming to the PlayStation?Vita handheld game and computer entertainment system in August and will include The Walking Dead: 400 Days. Featuring hybrid touch controls unique to PS?Vita, fans can now take the apocalypse on the road and enjoy the entirety of Season One in one package.

“400 Days offers excellent connective tissue between Seasons One and Two, but stands as an excellent anthology of Walking Dead stories in its own right,” said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “We’re excited to give fans an opportunity to see more of Robert Kirkman’s world, and live with more edge-of-your-seat choice and consequence as we head towards Season Two, coming later this year.

To date, The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series has sold more than 17 million episodes worldwide, earning more than 90 Game of the Year honors from outlets including Metacritic, USA Today, Wired, Spike TV VGAs, Yahoo!, The Telegraph, Mashable, Polygon, Destructoid and GamesRadar, and was also the recipient of two BAFTA Video Games Awards for Best Story and Best Mobile Game.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is US$4.99 or equivalent as downloadable content for The Walking Dead: Season One.  As DLC, The Walking Dead: 400 Days requires that Episode One of Season One is installed on a user’s game system in order to play.

The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series and offers an emotionally-charged, tailored game experience where a player’s actions and choices affect how their story plays out across the entire series.
