For many long-time sports gamers out there, EA’s NHL 94 for the Sega Genesis is still the pinnacle of console hockey games, or at the very least, it’s the most memorable.
Well to celebrate the 20th anniversary of NHL 94’s release, NHL 14 will feature an NHL 94 Anniversary Mode that will hopefully bring back the retro videogame hockey experience. The overhead perspective (as an option), the blue ice, the music and effects, the classic button controls, the star player indicators, the fights, and more.
Check out the trailer and some screenshots, and head on over to EA Sports’s blog to take a look at the developer diary with more insight.
