The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD looks gorgeous in this new trailer [UPDATE: Screens]

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD got a lot more airtime during this morning’s Nintendo Direct. Showing off a brand new trailer, if there was ever a case to be made for HD’ing the heck out of older titles, Wind Waker HD is definitely it.

Besides getting a coat of fresh paint, The Wind Waker HD will also have a few new features added in. One feature shown off was the ability to cast a message in the bottle that ties into the popular Miiverse function of the Wii U console. Other players connected online can retrieve these bottles and messages in-game. Another featured hinted at was the ability to speed sail throughout the ocean, addressing the number one complaint about Wind Waker HD head-on.

Also, Nintendo confirmed again that The Wind Waker HD would be available this year, announcing the title for release in October.

Check out the beautiful new footage contained in the trailer straight from Nintendo’s Official YouTube page.

UPDATE: New Screens.
