BioShock Infinite will have a season pass, DLC

Publisher 2K Games and developer Irrational Games announced that, surprise surprise, they’re putting together some DLC for the upcoming release of BioShock Infinite in the form of three add-on packs. Not much was revealed about the content of those packs or when we could expect to see them after launch, but the official press release did say that the packs would add to existing story, characters, abilities and weapons. Whether this will result in something like the excellent Minerva’s Den add-on from BioShock 2, or something entirely different, remains to be seen.

Along with this DLC announcement, 2K will be offering a Season Pass with the launch of the game for $19.99. This gives you access to the three DLC packs, and also gives players an additional pack up front with bonus gear, machine gun and pistol damage upgrades, gold weapon skins, and something called infusion bottles that are apparently used to upgrade stuff like health, shields, etc.

A little more info is contained in the press release below, including the option to pre-order the Season Pass if that’s your thing. BioShock Infinite drops on March 26th, 2013.
