Assassin’s Creed III assassinates all Ubisoft pre-order records

Assassin’s Creed III isn’t even out yet and it’s already assassinating records. Pre-order records that is… Ubisoft today announced that AC3 is officially the most pre-ordered game in the company’s history. Based on what we’ve seen of the game so far, that makes a whole lot of sense.

Read on for the announcement.

Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin?s Creed III is the most pre-ordered game in the company?s history. Pre-orders of Assassin?s Creed III already have more than doubled those of last year?s Assassin?s Creed Revelations, Ubisoft?s previous pre-order record holder.

With more than 40 awards won since its announcement such as Best E3 Action Game from both Game Informer and IGN, Assassin?s Creed III, will be available on October 30 on PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360  video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, November 18 for Wii U and November 20 on Windows  PC.

?Pre-orders for Assassin?s Creed III at GameStop are nearly 100% higher than last year, putting the game on track to be one of the top titles of 2012,? said Tony Bartel, president of GameStop. ?In addition, Ubisoft is offering high quality DLC available at launch to bring even more excitement to this title.?

Assassin?s Creed III is the next installment in the Assassin?s Creed franchise, which has already sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. Players will step into the boots of a new hero, Connor. Set during the American Revolution in the late 18th century the Assassin will battle for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date.

?Assassin?s Creed III is one of the most anticipated games of the year and this impressive pre-order mark is just a hint of the game?s potential,? said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales & marketing, Ubisoft. ?When players discover the new features, historical period, characters and gaming experience that the development team has worked so hard to create, we?re confident that they will agree that this is the biggest, best Assassin?s Creed game yet.?

Customers still have time to place their pre-orders and benefit from a number of exciting deals, including the Assassin?s Creed III Season Pass, featuring ?The Tyranny of King Washington,? an all-new single-player campaign told through three episodic content packs that lets gamers experience an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution. In addition to this all-new single player experience, Assassin?s Creed III downloadable content will feature new maps and characters for an even more expansive multiplayer experience.

Assassin?s Creed III Season Pass will be available for purchase for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network. It can be pre-ordered at GameStop and Best Buy and is available at UBIShop by visiting: http://shop.ubi.com/assassinscreed3. The Assassin?s Creed III Season Pass releases within six months after the game launch at a 25% savings over the individual pack prices. Also, Season Pass owners will have access to the first downloadable content pack one week before other gamers. All Assassin?s Creed III Downloadable Content will also be available for the Wii U.
