PSN Day 1 Digital program offers PS3 full games day-and-date with retail

We kind of saw this coming, especially considering the number of retail games being announced as available day-and-date on PSN recently. Today, SCEA has made it official and also put a name to the program.

PSN Day 1 Digital will allow gamers to download the full version of a number of high profile releases from PSN on the same day they are made available at retail. Select releases will only be available for PS Plus subscribers, and may also be offered for a 10% discount.

Even though Borderlands 2 and other games have launched on the PSN recently, the program kicks off next week officially with Resident Evil 6 and NBA 2K13.
