NBA 2K13 demo now live for Xbox 360, PS3

Those gamers curious to see all the changes that 2K Sports is bringing to the table for NBA 2K13 can do so today, via Xbox Live and PSN.

The demo for the JAY Z-executive produced new NBA 2K installment features a bit of online play, Kinect voice control functionality and the new Control Stick controls as well.

Grab the demo from the Xbox Live right now, and a bit later from PSN.

NBA 2K13 is set to be released on October 5th. Read on for the announcement.

2K Sports today announced that a free demo of NBA 2K13 is now available on the Xbox LIVE? Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The demo allows players to relive last season?s NBA Finals and play one five-minute quarter as the Oklahoma City Thunder or Miami Heat. The Xbox 360 demo is available globally, and the PS3 version is available in the Americas and Europe.

For the first time in NBA 2K history, fans that download the demo can play an online quick match, and those who download the Xbox 360 version can also test some of the game?s Kinect for Xbox 360 functionality. Kinect for Xbox 360?s voice recognition in NBA 2K13 allows players to seamlessly call out plays and strategies on the fly, as well as make substitutions (substitution functionality not enabled in the demo), without bringing up menus.

The NBA 2K13 demo also gives players their first opportunity to get accustomed to the all-new Control Stick. For the first time ever, all dribble moves have been mapped to the right analog stick, which players can use to string together crossover moves and shots for maximum control on the court.

NBA 2K13 is the latest installment of the top-rated NBA video game simulation franchise 12 years running*. This year, 2K Sports has joined forces with multi-platinum recording artist JAY Z as Executive Producer. Featuring an enhanced MyCAREER mode and all-new gameplay features, NBA 2K13 will let gamers pit the best players in NBA history against the new dynasty of talent, including the much-debated matchup between the 2012 U.S. Men?s National Team and the 1992 ?Dream Team.?

Developed by Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio, NBA 2K13 is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB and will be available on October 2, 2012 in North America and October 5, 2012 internationally for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, PSP  (PlayStation Portable) system, Wii? system and Windows PC. The Wii U version of the title will be available during the holiday season. Fans are encouraged to pre-order now at participating retailers in order to receive the NBA All-Star content on day one at no extra cost.
