Assassin’s Creed III shows off Ubi’s impressive new AnvilNext engine in the latest trailer

Believe it or not, Assassin’s Creed III is running on a brand new game engine.  This AnvilNext engine should give AC3 a bit of an advantage over the previous games in the franchise in a number of ways, on paper at least.

It’s hard to tell if the framerate will finally get out of the gutter, but at the very least we’ll get improved physics, animation and weather along with revamped combat.

Check it out.
