Double Dragon: Neon to hit PSN, XBLA beginning on September 11th

WayForward is still hard at work on the brand new, retro-styled Double Dragon game, Double Dragon: Neon. The throwback beat-em-up may not be in classic 2D, but it looks nearly as cheesy as you would hope and expect anyway.

Today, Majesco and WayForward announced a September 11th and 12th release date for PSN and XBLA respectively, for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points.

Read on for more info about the return of Billy and Jimmy Lee.

Yo!

Since announcing the fresh new hotness that is Double Dragon: Neon, fans have been tapping their toes waiting for an official release date for the most radical game of 2012 (and 1987, because Double Dragon: Neon is so awesome it rocks across time and space). Finally, we can let the cat out of the bag ? Double Dragon: Neon will be coming to PlayStation Network on September 11 for $9.99 and to the Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on September 12 for 800 Microsoft points.

Now that you?ve got the 411 on Billy and Jimmy and their bro-tastic adventure to take on Skullmageddeon and save their girlfriend Marion, get yourself pumped up by high-fiving your nearest bud and visit www.doubledragonneon.com, the official place for all things Double Dragon: Neon. Developed by the geniuses from WayForward Technologies, Double Dragon: Neon is a love letter to the classic beat ?em up genre with modern sensibilities and a thick slather of Eighties acid-washed aesthetic.
