Read on! Hi-YA!
Highly acclaimed game developer Halfbrick today announced that its chart-topping Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) Kinect title, Fruit Ninja Kinect, has exceeded the 1 million downloads mark since its debut on XBLA in August 2011.
“Hitting 1 million downloads for XBLA is an awesome achievement,” said Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick. “It’s a milestone that proves how with the right team and vision, a mobile game can be expanded into a much bigger franchise across new platforms and markets and be wildly successful!”
Fruit Ninja Kinect was the number one title on XBLA’s Summer of Arcade series and 2011’s “Best Casual Game” Interactive Achievement award winner. With the simple yet addictive mechanics that made Fruit Ninja such a breakout success on mobile devices, Fruit Ninja Kinect stays true to the spirit of the beloved title, while expanding players’ experience with new gameplay modes and unlockable content. Players use their arms (and legs) to slice and swipe their way through the various game modes — Classic, Zen and Arcade — to become the ultimate Fruit Ninja. Fruit Ninja Kinect also has multiplayer functionality so Fruit Ninjas can slice side-by-side or challenge one another.
Fruit Ninja Kinect is rated “E for Everyone” by the ESRB and is currently available for download through Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 MSP ($10 USD) for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system with Kinect.
