Fable gets a co-op hack-and-slash makeover in Fable Heroes for XBLA

As the other of the pair of new Fable titles revealed at Microsoft’s Spring Showcase 2012, Fable Heroes is more of an action oriented co-op XBLA title and somewhat of a fresh spin on the franchise.

The game also takes the world of Fable and makes it a whole lot more cute looking as you can see in the first set of screens and a trailer below.

More information for the game below.

?Fable Heroes? is an action-packed, hack-and-slash adventure built for Xbox LIVE Arcade. It delivers a fresh spin on the ?Fable? franchise with a unique art style and gameplay that takes playful competition to the next level, with four-player multiplayer time trials and leaderboards on Xbox LIVE. Whether on the couch or using Xbox LIVE co-op, players work together to defeat enemies while also competing with one another to collect gold coins and level up.

Features:

  • Challenge friends and foes. Pick your favorite hero and join forces with up to four of your friends to defeat your enemies. At the same time, compete with your friends to collect gold coins, which will level up your character and unlock items in ?Fable: The Journey? when it launches later this year.
  • Explore a reimagined Albion. ?Fable Heroes? was developed by Lionhead employees who have been fans of the franchise from day one. It includes regions, enemies and characters that fans of the ?Fable? franchise will recognize, but with a unique art style that offers a fresh take on the world of Albion.
  • Level up. Unlock features such as finishing moves, flourishes and power ups that will make your hero an unstoppable force.
  • Play again and again. As you progress through the game, you will unlock increasingly difficult levels and minigames that will challenge you to gain new powers, beat your previous score and climb the leaderboards. In addition, you can set the difficulty from the start, offering a challenge for experts and novices alike.
