Nominees for PSN Gamers? Choice Awards 2012 revealed, cast your votes beginning tomorrow

The 2012 PlayStation Network (PSN) Gamers? Choice Awards nominations were announced this morning by SCEA, and once again, they want to get the community involved in the process.

There are a total of 10 categories this year, including a special one for Best PSN Indie. The voting begins tomorrow via the PlayStation Store for 9 of the categories, with the PlayStation Community Award ? Best Indie category being available online via the official site, right here: http://us.playstation.com/psn/gamers-choice-awards/

What do you get out of this besides seeing your favorite games win something? Well, those who vote on the Indie category get a free XMB voucher and the winning games will be offered for 30% – 50% off beginning on the day the winners are announced on March 6th.

So, without further delay, the 2012 nominees for PSN Gamers? Choice Awards are:

  • Best PS3 Full Game: Assassin?s Creed: Brotherhood (PS3), Assassin?s Creed II: Deluxe Edition (PS3), Midnight Club LA Complete Edition (PS3)
  • Best PlayStation Move Game: 4Elements HD (PS3), Dungeon Defenders (PS3), Dungeon Hunter: Alliance (PS3)
  • Best 3D Game: Dungeon Defenders (PS3), God of War: Origins Collection (PS3), The Sly Collection (PS3)
  • Best PlayStation Classic: Chrono Trigger (PS3/PSP), Parasite Eve (PS3/PSP), Xenogears (PS3/PSP)

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced the nominees for the 2012 PlayStation Network (PSN) Gamers? Choice Awards, designed to recognize the best downloadable games on PSN. This year, SCEA introduces six new voting categories, expanding the total to 10, featuring some of the highest user-rated games released on PSN in 2011.

Starting tomorrow, PSN users will have one week to cast their vote for their favorite games in nine of the 10 categories by visiting the PlayStation Store and will receive a free Gamers? Choice Awards XMB (XrossMediaBar) theme for each vote cast. New this year, PlayStation fans will also be able to cast their vote online for one special community category, Best PSN Indie, and will receive a voucher code to be redeemed in the PlayStation Store for a free exclusive XMB theme.

The winning games in each category will be announced on the PlayStation Blog on March 6, 2012, and each winning title will be discounted 30% in the PlayStation Store starting that same day for one week through March 12, with a special 50% discount for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
