Trine 2 is finally bringing the magic to XBLA and PSN on December 20th

The downloadable console versions will be available in about 2 weeks, so December 20th and 21st for PSN (North America) and XBLA (worldwide), respectively. The Euro PSN version date is not yet confirmed at this time, but it surely will be announced soon.

ATLUS and Frozenbyte today announced that Trine 2, a high fantasy, physics-based action-platformer with cooperative online multiplayer, is out now for PC via Steam. The game will also be available in North America for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system via PlayStation Network on December 20*, and worldwide for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft via Xbox LIVE Arcade on December 21.

“We are thrilled to work with the incredibly talented Finnish developer Frozenbyte to bring this breathtaking fantasy adventure to PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 systems,” stated Tim Pivnicny, Vice Present of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS. “Building upon a critically acclaimed foundation, Trine 2 is bigger and better in every imaginable way, adding online cooperative play on top of a host of new content and enhancements. The sequel also marks the first chance for Xbox 360 owners to experience the magic and wonder of the world of Trine, opening the game’s wonders to an even wider audience.”

Set in one of the most colorful, vibrant fantasy worlds created, this sequel to one of the highest rated PlayStation Network games ever introduces stunning new locales, daunting new enemies, puzzling environmental hazards, character upgrades, and online functionality for the game’s 3-person cooperative play. Now, gamers thousands of miles apart can team up and play through the entire game as either the powerful Knight, agile Thief, or crafty Wizard to get to the bottom of an evil magic that has brought havoc-wreaking plants to life.
