Sonic CD arrives in time for the Holidays starting tomorrow on Xbox Live Arcade

Sonic boom, sonic boom… sonic booooomm! Sega has announced that the long awaited downloadable version Sonic CD, originally released for the Sega CD, will be available beginning tomorrow.

The game is set to hit Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, December 14th, for only 400 Microsoft Points. Android, iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad versions will be available starting December 14th and 15th for a limited-time sale price of $1.99. The PlayStation Network version will go live December 14th in Europe and December 20th in the U.S. for $4.99 as well.

SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced that fan favorite Sonic CD will be released on multiple platforms starting tomorrow, December 14. Relive the story of the 1993 original, which sees Dr. Eggman again attempting to take control of time by stealing the Time Stones from Little Planet. Sonic must speed through levels and travel through time while fending off Eggman?s robots to recover the Time Stones and save the smitten young hedgehog, Amy Rose.

One of GamesRadar?s top 100 games of all time, the revamped version of this popular title includes the original Japanese and US soundtracks as requested by the fans, and, for the first time, the ability to play the game as Sonic?s best friend, Tails, unlockable by clearing the game for the first time. Sonic CD also features the first appearance of Metal Sonic, one of Sonic?s most enduring nemeses.

Sonic CD will be available tomorrow, December 14, for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft (400 Microsoft Points).
