All Zombies Must Die! headed to Xbox Live Arcade courtesy of Square Enix

Square Enix this morning announced that they have signed on to publish the Xbox Live Arcade version of doublesix’s Burn Zombie Burn sequel of sorts. XBLA games, unlike PSN titles, require a real publisher in order to get a commercial game onto the service, so Square Enix has stepped in to save the day.

All Zombies Must Die! is scheduled to be released later this month on both XBLA and PSN.

Read on for the press release.

The spiritual successor to doublesix?s Burn Zombie Burn, All Zombies Must Die! sees the main character Jack living out his fantasies as a gamer in a town overrun by zombies. Packed with playful humor, All Zombies Must Die! fuses many gameplay elements to create a frenetic action-packed RPG shooter offering the player and up to three friends, a non-stop Zombie-killing mayhem. The game?s RPG elements allow the player to level up characters, complete comical side quests and collect items to craft new weapons.

?We?re very excited to partner with doublesix on the XBLA launch of All Zombies Must Die!? said Mona Hamilton, vice president of marketing of Square Enix, Inc. ?This fun and humorous zombie RPG has received significant interest from media and consumers, and is an excellent addition to Square Enix?s diverse catalog of games.?

James Brooksby, Founder, doublesix adds, ?The studio has been working very hard on All Zombies Must Die! for some time; it is our most ambitious project to date and we are thrilled it will be in the hands of the public very soon. We are delighted to be publishing the XBLA version with Square Enix and look forward to working with them on the game?s launch.?
